In 1995 the Englishman Lee Brimmicombe-Wood published the book Aliens - Colonial Marines Technical Manual through Boxtree-Ltd. It is a fictional manual for the marine-infanterist soldier of the future set in the Aliens-universe. By using lots of pictures, sketches and descriptions the reader is being presented in detail the tough world of the Marines and it is even being speculated about the aliens. But mainly the book deals with the equipment and tactics of the Marines.
The author used lots of pictures taken in co-operation with the makers of Alien War. This makes the book very apealing and "authentic".
Conclusion: For the military-interested fan very recommandable, as well as usable for roleplayers as background material!
